EXPERIENCED HOTEL GENERAL MANAGER — FARMINGTON, NEW MEXICO

Salary: $70,000–$93,000 plus performance bonus of up to $20,000 Total annual compensation up to $113,000.

A nationally recognized hotel franchise in Farmington, New Mexico, is seeking an accomplished and highly motivated General Manager. This opportunity is intended exclusively for candidates with significant, successful experience as a hotel General Manager.

We need a visible, hands-on leader who is actively involved during the hotel’s most important operating periods, including morning departures and afternoon arrivals. The successful candidate will build and motivate a strong team, interact regularly with guests, maintain excellent cleanliness and operating standards, and create an energetic, accountable workplace.

Responsibilities include improving occupancy, ADR and RevPAR Index; directing sales efforts; monitoring rates and market conditions; controlling labor and expenses; maintaining franchise standards; improving guest satisfaction; and holding department leaders accountable for measurable results.

The General Manager will work directly with an experienced and supportive owner who establishes clear expectations and provides the resources necessary for success. This position offers considerable operating authority to a professional who demonstrates sound judgment, personal accountability and a genuine sense of ownership.

Candidates must have a proven record of successful hotel leadership, revenue growth, team development and strong operating performance.

Primary responsibilities

• Lead all daily hotel operations and department managers
• Build a positive, accountable and service-oriented employee culture
• Improve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and RevPAR Index
• Actively manage rates, inventory, Choice Hotels systems and online distribution
• Develop local corporate, government, construction, athletic and group business
• Maintain excellent guest-satisfaction and brand-quality scores
• Control payroll, housekeeping productivity and other operating expenses
• Review financial statements, forecasts and operating results
• Maintain the newly renovated property in excellent physical condition
• Recruit, train, coach and retain strong employees
• Ensure compliance with Choice Hotels standards and applicable regulations
• Communicate regularly and directly with ownership

Required experience

• Successful prior experience as General Manager of a branded hotel
• Demonstrated ability to improve hotel revenue, market share and profitability
• Strong understanding of revenue management, hotel sales and online distribution
• Proven ability to recruit, motivate and hold employees accountable
• Experience managing guest satisfaction, brand inspections and operating costs
• Stable employment history with meaningful tenure in previous positions

Experience exclusively in restaurant, retail or non-hotel management does not satisfy the requirements for this position. Only experienced hotel General Managers should apply.
